Why it matters
Treating online abuse as a preventable public health issue fosters empathy, prevention, and long-term solutions that reduce harm for everyone. By focusing on prevention and social well-being rather than pathologizing individuals, we can create safer online spaces and reduce harm, without fueling stigma that can lead to cyberbullying, discrimination, and over-criminalization of minorities.

Unlike our other priority areas, direct links to projects in the Cyberbullying and Abuse priority area are not given here because–ironically–they have themselves attracted bullying and abuse. To find out more about our any of our existing Cyberbullying and Abuse projects or to propose your own project for fiscal sponsorship, contact us.
