📍 Medical School Berlin, 28th September
On September 28th, COSL heads to an international panel hosted by the WRITE project at Medical School Berlin to examine how legal and clinical fields should treat fictional text involving underage themes, and where laws written to stop real abuse end up capturing material that involves no real victim at all.
|
The panel brings together child-safety researchers from Childlight and ICMEC Australia alongside digital-rights advocates, including our own Jeremy Malcolm. Join us on Monday September 28th, 7:00-9:30 BST • 8:00-10:30 CEST • 16:00-18:30 AEST • 23:00-1:30 PDT

The Panelists
We’re joining a panel of 6 voices examining one hard question.
|
- Dr. Konstantinos Kosmas Gaitis (Childlight, Global Child Safety Institute)
- Colm Gannon (ICMEC Australia)
- Andrew Briercliffe (online-harms advisor)
- Dr. Laura F. Kuhle (Charité, Universitätsmedizin Berlin)
- Prof. Anna Madill (University of Leeds)
- COSL's own Jeremy Malcolm
|
It will be a rare gathering of researchers focused squarely on child protection, sitting alongside advocates for creative and expressive freedom, talking to each other instead of past each other. (Please note that Ashley Remminga was originally scheduled to participate, but will no longer be joining us.)
